Moving on...

Since Halloween is over here in Utah (we celebrated last night) I took down my Halloween decorations and I'm moving on to Thanksgiving.  I still want to make a banner and some other stuff for the holiday, but for now this is what my mantle looks like.
notice the empty picture frame, I took all the Halloween out, and soon I will whip up something fallish to put in it.
it also needed some color so I added some green "somethings" in the jar.  Its still a work in progress, but I will keep you posted on what I add to itAnd maybe, just maybe I can talk my wonderful most helpful husband to helping me paint my mantel.  and when I say help... I mean, hopefully he will just do it for me.
wish me luck!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

look what I'm doing.............

....So after I made my Halloween House, It was kinda a lot of work and I said "I'm never doing this again" Shoot me for saying that, but people.....it was.  Well shut my mouth!!!  Look what I'm working on now.....
not only did I go and buy another house, I bought TWO!! (and the best part......it only cost me $4.49)  Hobby Lobby has them 50% off, but I'm not sure when the sale ends.
and I got some new Christmas paper
When I said that I was never doing this again, I really did mean it, but then I got so many comments and on it that I had to make another one!  So THANK YOU all for your kind and encouraging words that have now led me to make some more.

more halloween

I think I need some more black & white Halloween around my house......  Easton is sleeping & Lillie is out for a bike ride with her friends (and the mom) .....so what better time to make something.....I took a picture frame that I already had (sorry Lillie, I will put you back in as soon as the Holidays are over)
I then stamped my image, all the stamps that I use are from Stampin' Up and if you want to order any you can order from my BCB (best crafty buddy) Leana.  Just send her a email.

the rest is pretty easy and I'm sure that we all did this in kindergarten......add some glue, some glitter, and then you have a spooky glittery eyeball.

and if you have girls in your house, you probably have some broken princess's necklaces that she wont mind if you add to your projects.
I made rolled fabric flowers.
took some left over scallop punches from my wreath that I made and added one of the flowers to the paper.
 Happy Halloween Crafting!!

THANKS FOR LOOKING!!

the dresser

She is done!!!  I was really nervous to start this project.  I have painted many things, before, but nothing this big and nothing like this.  I wanted  it to look like every other painted piece of furniture that I have been stocking.......  I wanted it to be turquoise, but when I went to Home Depot to pick out the paint I totally chickened out and I went with something wayyyyy lighter... Jade by Behr is the color I chose.
Here she is before in all her glory, yes some knobs are missing and one of the drawers is not so straight, but we have all the knobs and I just threw the drawer in there so that I could take a picture of it.
I primed it with two coats and then painted it with two coats, and then the MR. painted one more coat.  I didn't sand any of it before don't judge me, this is my first time, hehehehe!!

and here she is all done!
After I (we) where done painting it  I used the hand sander and sanded some edges.  And then I glazed her.  I made my own glaze.  I used a acrylic paint: Burnt Umber.  I was really nervous about this part, but it was actually pretty easy.

She needs new knobs, but that will have to wait.   So for now she is in my craft room in the closet, waiting to be filled will all my stuff Junk!

THANKS FOR LOOKING!!

Black & White Halloween

Just in case you where wondering what I was doing with all my Halloween craftyness......

It all started with my Halloween House. I wanted new Halloween decorations and I wanted BLACK & WHITE.  So that's when I made the house.....and then I made the paper wreath. And now this is what my mantle looks like............
try not to look at the actual mantle, someday soon its going to be white.
I had a pumpkin from the dollar store that I painted white, the candle stick, I have had forever.  I glued some moss on top added the pumpkin and some ribbon.
these are bowls that I have had forever that I turned upside down and stacked them on top of each.
the crow & the skull are from the dollar store, the "boo block", I have also had forever, I just took off the orange ribbon.

please feel free to stop by my house and come inside and see my mantle, because I promise you it looks way better than these pictures.  hehehehe!!

P.S.  I have something big that has just arrived in my garage tonight from my mother-in-laws basement.  I can't wait to get started on it, but I'm very nervous to even tackle the project.   But I have been dying to do it!!  Hopefully my mom will come over and help and tell me "just do it, Amber"

Halloween Paper Wreath

Ok Ladies.........by far this is my most favorite thing that I have created this week....yes, its the only thing that I created this week, but good golly..... I love it!!  I finally made one.  And let me just tell you, last night when I finished it and I was talking picture so that I could post it and all my pictures where HORRIBLE!   I went to bed and I was so bummed that I had to wait until I got home from work to post it.  So I turned on tinker bell threw the girls in front of the TV gave them some cookies and milk and here I am.  So lets get to it already...... I'm dying to show you.

Here are my supplies, foam wreath, (left over from Eastons Birthday wreath) a book from the dollar store, a scallop punch and of course DIET COKE.
Basically all that you do is punch out a ton of scallop circles from the book and then hot glue them to your base.  I used a maker to fold the paper over and then glued it to the base

once my wreath was all done, i thought it was kinda small.  I took the frame that I have had forever from Ikea, that everyone has and just glued some paper on the insert of the frame.  well actually my wonderful hubby did this part, I could not get the paper straight and it was really bugging him.

it still needed something..... so I made a "spooky" little banner. I made paper lollies stamp the letters on different paper and then attached those with some toole to the lollies.  I attached the lollies together with a needle and thread.

 added some more "spookyness"

  and WA-LA!!  here it is.........................

I hope you love it as much as I do.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!
